Cascade Audio Studio
Click once to start the sound. Browsers keep audio off until you interact with the page.
A music player screen built in Unity UI Toolkit, animated with Cascade, my tween library for UI Toolkit. It has three tracks, and each one is a different genre. Switch the track and the whole room changes with it: colours, fonts, corner shapes, the spectrum ring and the weather. Metal gets fire, synthwave gets lasers and a neon grid, lo-fi gets rain.
Things to try
- Next / previous or click a row in the queue to change genre.
- Grab the record and scratch it. Let go and it spins back up to speed.
- Pause: the record brakes, the pitch slides down and every effect freezes where it is.
- Drag the waveform to seek.
- Drag the faders, and double-click one to spring it home.
- Spam the reaction buttons for a combo.
- Keys: Space plays and pauses, the arrow keys or 1, 2, 3 change genre.
How it's made
Everything that moves is a Cascade tween. One Value tween re-themes the whole screen, the flames, lasers and raindrops are looping tweens with handles you can pause, and the turntable's start-up and brake are tweens on its speed. The devlog has the code for each part.
The sample comes to Cascade in a future update.

- Cascade Pro: u3d.as/45jT (30% off until Oct 21)
Web version notes
The browser can't read Unity's live audio spectrum or run its audio filters. In this build the spectrum ring, meters and beats follow a simulated signal at each song's tempo, and the TONE, BASS and ECHO faders move without changing the sound. LEVEL still sets the volume. On desktop the ring and the effects follow the real audio. The songs are trimmed to 100 seconds to keep the download small.
